The Inconvenience and The Heart of Gold, located right on top of each other in one of the theater lofts on Lincoln Avenue, are two of the coolest loft spots in town with the Heart of Gold looking like a comfy speakeasy and The Inconvenience looking like the Foot Clan’s playground headquarters in the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
It was nice to be at a straightforward rock show after so many cookie cutter dance parties (although it wasn’t really straightforward rock music, but I am so not about using genre labels right now). Netherfriends headlined after their much ballyhooed set earlier at the Pitchfork music festival, along with Stephen Paul Smoker, Cock & Ox, Rachele Eve, Ol’Boy, and Teenage Rage.
