Front 312

Posted on July 26th, 2010 by admin

Tonight was the worst storm I could remember in this city (I mean sure, I don’t remember very many storms but it was 8 solid hours of torrential downpour that left a foot-tall lake of scum sloshing throughout my basement)… and people came out! Obviously the people who come out while the God of Thunder is decimating their city and flooding the streets come out to go hard and Front 312 was a great place to be when that happened.

Front 312 is dedicated to the sounds borne out of Chicago of the ’80s: industrial and house, and the place where those crowds overlap. Mayra Hernandez hosted what was otherwise a residents-night, with Adam Black, Mr Automatic, Peter Propaganda, Le Sprite, and Eddie Riot. Goths, punks, hipsters, ravers, and Lincoln Park bro dudes who asked their cab drivers to drop them all off at the closest, driest bar showed up to get crunk, get naked, and write on the walls with Phantom 45’s sweet chalk marker.

Most of the photos from this set were taken by Meagan Fredette (with a few by Eric lab Rat). Visit her fashion blog at L A T T E R S T Y L E. Scroll down to see all the GlitterGuts portrait booth pictures from the night. Right-click any image to download, and for info on ordering, click here.
