Backstage at Dani Deahl’s ‘Pocket Porn’ Video Shoot

This past Monday, we hit up Sound-Bar for the first time to watch Dani Deahl shoot a video for her upcoming single “Pocket Porn”. It was a lot of starting and stopping, getting ready and waiting and waiting and waiting for a flurry of lights and movement and music and energy and m=then more stopping and waiting (which is to say that it was a music video shoot, I hear that porn and feature film shoots are pretty much the same thing, but that only music videos tend to be constrained to a single, 18-hour day).
There were blase disco zombies slumped over and strewn about the club like some kind of holocaust imagined by David LaChapelle, and gorgeous make-up veterans making beautiful people more beautiful in explosions of powder and flurries of brush strokes, and models who looked like they were unfamiliar with the concept of food ravenously devouring Aldi snacks and thin crust pizza, and Dani Deahl at the center of it all, usually in an array of stilettos so elaborate and impractical, that Rupaul would probably curtsy at them.
