Nuts and Bolts: Robot Realness

Our favorite craft/burlesque/costume/dance party Nuts & Bolts hosted a Robot Realness party under a torrential downpour in Logan Square, and despite the weather and the fact that a lot of the costumes reminding me of a homemade cardboard, bike reflectors, and antennae robot costume that had me mercilessly made fun of at school and minor league traumatized in first grade, it was one of the best parties I’ve been to all year. Hosted by Trandroid and emcee Vajaqueque Brown, with music by djs Swaguerilla and Downlow, performances by Jezabel A Go Go, Mister Junior, and Jerry Blossom, and looks ranging from Mad Max football punk to Stepford Wives housewife replicant to Clive Barker/HR Geiger Cenobite, it was another one for the books.
