The Black And Brown Punk Show 2013

Posted on August 31st, 2013 by eric

For the third year in a row, we were able to shoot the Black and Brown Punk Show. An amazing event that creates a safe space for kids of all ages, ethnicities, and gender identities… you know, so long as they enjoy loud aggressive music. Just as the fest is a space that’s open for every type of punk, it’s a space that’s open to every flavor of punk rock music, from 77-style street punk to experimental noise to Jabberwocky-style emo, with a little room for the hiphop of KrisDeLaRash to the angry Mexican folk music of Yva Las Vegas. Chicago legends ONO layered waves of sound into their post-punk (an ironic label for their genre, as they were one of Chicago’s first wave of punks in the seventies) and La Armada brutalized the audience with straight-up political hardcore.
