Every year, our favorite big homegrown festival Riot Fest gets a little bigger and a little better. Nestled in Humboldt Park’s beautiful namesake park for the second year in a row, the festival is not just a showcase for punk, metal, and… ummm… alternative(?) bands, but a fully functioning weirdo carnival replete with ferris wheel, corn dog stands, clowns and sideshow acts, a wrestling ring, a secret backstage yacht rock party, and for some reason, a bust of Greek heartthrob John Stamos sculpted out of butter. The lineup featured bands as diverse as Blondie, Gwar, AFI, Peelander-Z, Saul Williams, Mephiskapheles, Hatebreed, Public Enemy and Screeching Weasel.
We were excited to pair up with the iconic punk rock, workboot, and weird-studded-fashion-y boot company Dr. Martens for their #STANDFORSOMETHING campaign. Check out some of these pictures from the booth!
